Filmmakers

Our inaugural year has Oliver Stone slated to receive a life-time achievement award. The festival will screen one of the acclaimed filmmaker’s recent documentaries and host a Question and Answers session after the film’s presentation. Each year the festival will strive to share a well-known filmmaker’s work and at the same time introduce our wide audience to new filmmakers and their works.
We are currently seeking the documentary genre- both feature and short, with emphasis on contemporary affairs, domestic and international stories of human character and spirit, historical perspectives, biographies, politically charged tales as well as art/music portraits, and any true story that the filmmaker believes may have an appeal to the public.

If you are interested in sharing your film in a magical setting with an equally great location near the heart of the industry, then American Docs is a must on your festival submission list.

Our festival will proudly showcase premieres from acclaimed directors as well as screen undiscovered and unknown films by first-timers- our goal is to screen as many films as possible within the festival’s time slot, giving more filmmakers the opportunity at exposure, and giving your film the leg up on sharing your work with the world. The festival shall award cash prizes to the filmmaker(s) whose films received the audience and/or juried favorites.

All filmmakers whose films are chosen to screen are encouraged to attend festival. The festival shall provide accommodation for you and a guest. Transportation to and from the festival shall be the responsibility of the filmmaker.
