This year’s festival is set for March 29-April 5, 2012. The American Documentary Film Festival is located in the beautiful resort community of Palm Springs, California. Strategically located 2 hours east of Hollywood, this film mecca boasts a favorable viewing audience, many self-proclaimed aficionados. The American Documentary Film Festival aims to be the largest documentary festival and market on the West Coast of the United States. Our main objective is to promote a world vision of film as seen through the eyes of the filmmaker of whomever or whatever their subject matter may be in order to educate and entertain the film goer.

The festival works in conjunction with the Palm Springs Cultural Center – The Palm Springs Cultural Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established to encourage the development of the cultural arts in the Coachella Valley with a specific focus in the areas of film, fine art, live performance, dance, music, and community-wide participation in the cultural arts, and to sponsoring scholarship awards for deserving individuals.

In addition to the international film festival, we are proud to share the American Documentary Film Fund with independent American filmmakers who will participate and compete for financing for new projects as well as works in progress.
